The football festival was held at the Centre for Sporting Excellence

Around 140 pupils with additional learning needs recently took part in a disability football festival in Ystrad Mynach.

The pupils, who came from eight schools across south Wales, visited Ystrad Mynach’s Centre for Sporting Excellence on Wednesday June 25 for a day of football.

Creating a “fully inclusive and supportive experience”, the council explained how the event brought together children of all abilities.

The festival featured football skills and drills in the morning, followed by friendly games in the afternoon. Volunteers from local schools helped to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere throughout the day.
