Trethomas Bluebirds will be visiting some familiar faces when they take on Pontypridd United away on Friday November 28.

Mark Dunford, who guided the Bluebirds to a second-place finish in the Cymru South last season following a promotion-winning campaign the previous year, left Trethomas in the summer to take over the reins at Ponty – where he was followed by a number of Trethomas’ star players.

Ponty go into the game 12th in the table, one place ahead of Paul Evans’ Trethomas, who are behind only on goal difference having played one game less.

Treowen Stars, who earned promotion to the Cymru South last season, are currently 11th. They host eighth-place Newport City on Saturday November 28.

In the league below, Caerphilly Athletic kept the heat on Ardal South East league leaders Goytre after beating Chepstow 2-1 away on Saturday November 22.

Ian Butterworth’s side are second, two points behind Goytre, after nine wins, one draw and two defeats in their first 12 games in the Ardal South East this season.

They take on eighth-place Abercarn at home in their next league game on Saturday November 29.
Also playing on Saturday are Risca United, who are third from bottom in the division. They will play against mid-table Croesyceiliog away.

Down in the South Wales Premier League Premier Division – the fourth tier of Welsh football – Aber Valley sit sixth, having won their most recent game 5-2 away to Bridgend Street on November 22. They host Pencoed Athletic at Aber Park on Saturday in their next game.

Two tiers below, in the South Wales Premier League Division One East, Cwrt Rawlin are third in the table, while Nelson Cavaliers are currently bottom.

The Cavaliers are also in action on November 29, taking on Treorchy BGC away.
