Gerwyn Price was denied a stunning comeback as he exited the Premier League Darts play-offs in the semi-finals.

Price, from Markham, came from 9-4 down to eventual champion Luke Littler on Thursday May 28, setting up a deciding leg at 9-9.

However, it was Littler who prevailed at London’s O2 Arena, winning the deciding leg to set up a meeting with Luke Humphries in the final.

Humphries reached the final after beating Welsh number one Jonny Clayton 10-9 in the previous round.

Posting on Instagram after his exit, Price said: “Oh well on we go. Not sharp enough when it mattered, tough long campaign this year but enjoyed every minute.

“Thanks everyone once again for showing me the utmost respect and support all the way through.

“Week off and then back on the wagon we go.”

Price secured his play-off berth after finishing fourth in the eight-man standings, earning two night victories in the process.

His victories came on Night 2 in Antwerp, Belgium, and on Night 9 in Manchester.

Price has never won Premier League Darts – and was the only player in the play-offs without a Premier League title to his name. He was beaten by Michael Van Gerwen in 2023’s play-off final, and fell at the semi-final stage last year following a defeat to Littler.
