Nominations are now open for this year’s Sport Caerphilly Awards.
The annual award ceremony recognises the achievements of Caerphilly County Borough’s sportsmen and women, as well as the contributions of clubs, coaches, and volunteers.
Nominations close at 10pm on September 23.
What categories are there?
- Young Volunteer of the Year (Under 18);
- Volunteer of the Year;
- Inclusive Coach of the Year;
- Community Coach of the Year;
- Club of the Year;
- Lifetime Achievement to Sport;
- Community Club of the Year;
- Coach of the Year.
The awards are organised by Sport Caerphilly, which is run by Caerphilly County Borough Council.
The ceremony will be held on Friday November 20 at Bryn Meadows in Maesycwmmer.
Cllr Chris Morgan, cabinet member for sport and leisure, described the awards as “an opportunity to celebrate the people who make sport and physical activity possible in our communities”.
He continued: “From dedicated volunteers and inspiring coaches to thriving clubs, these awards recognise the incredible contribution they make every day. If you know someone who deserves recognition, I would encourage you to submit a nomination and help us celebrate their achievements.”
