Tesco’s “Community Champion” Rebecca Cole met with the chairman of Risca Utd FC Rob Derraven to present him with the donation cheque.

Rebecca said: “It is great we are able to support our local football team. The donation has been made as part of the store’s ongoing commitment to supporting the Risca community. We hope to be able to continue this support in the future.”

Risca Utd Football Club is a self-funding club, run by a team of community volunteers. They have two senior teams, an under 19s team and play in the Welsh Football League.

The club is currently undergoing a major fundraising project to improve club facilities.
