An understrength Raiders side, with no first team players despite their Conference South side not having a game, struggled at Aber Valley Wolves in Senghenydd, on June 20, going down 62-6.

The Raiders, who fielded four debutants were always up against the cosh as they took on an experienced Wolves side.

It was 38-6 at half-time thanks to braces of tries for Alex Hogg and Jacob Wright. Lloyd Davies, Rhodri Davies and Luke Morgan. Wright kicked three goals with Jordan Gilbert and Connor Wiegold kicking the first two conversions.

Raiders’ lone try was scored by Jamie Davies and converted by Daf Daniels.

A credit to Raiders was that they kept Wolves to just four tries after the break.

Wright was over first, completing his hat-trick and then converting his own try, with Ryan Davies, Josh Williams and Ross Lewis also going over the line. Gilbert converted the final three tries.

The win places Wolves second in the Welsh Conference South on eight points behind the Bridgend Blue Bulls on ten points.

The Wolves’ take on the Blue Bulls in their next match on June 27.
