Rugby League: Aber Valley Wolves fall short in top of the table clash against Bridgend Blue Bulls

Sport | | Published: 09:48, Monday June 29th, 2015.

Aber Valley Wolves lost out in a top of the table clash against Bridgend Blue Bulls on Saturday June 27, but both teams showed why they’re the top two in the Welsh Conference as they fought out a scintillating battle at Pyle RFC.

The Bulls won 42-28 but they didn’t have it all their own way against a Wolves side that contained a number of debutants.

Seven different players scored Bulls’ tries with Huw Rosser, Dai Griggs, Joe Symons, Owen Thomas, Aled Cockwell, Mark Astley and Keiron Hooper all crossing once apiece, with Gareth Howells converting six and Lloyd Giles one.

Aber Valley equally spread the tries around with Lewis Willicot, Aaron Evans, Darryl Skym, Sion Jones and Gareth Hutcherson their try scorers with Connor Weigold adding four goals.

In a curtain raiser, Bridgend Blue Bulls’ under-13 side beat their Wolves counterparts 36-14 in a friendly match.
