‘Insulting’ name for new housing development “temporary”

The name of a housing estate branded an “insult” is a temporary one, the company behind its construction has said.

Community councillors have criticised the name of a controversial new housing estate, branding it an “insult”.

A report considered by the council’s policy and scrutiny committee said remote working had “proven to be intuitive and stable”.

The work is expected to last more than six weeks, with the footbridge scheduled to reopen to pedestrians on August 28.
