A teenager was taken to hospital with minor injuries after being bitten on the leg by a ‘pitbull type’ dog in Caerphilly last week.

The bite happened along the path next to the Nant Gledyr stream behind Maes y Drudwen and Dol y Paun in Glenfields.

It happened at around 11.30am on Thursday, March 24.

The 17-year-old boy, who has since been released from hospital, described the dog as medium-sized, brown, and of the pitbull type.

Gwent Police are appealing for information to identify the dog and its owner.

Police have said a white woman with short blonde hair, of slim build and said to be in her early 40s was in the area at the time and may be able to help with enquiries.

Anyone with information can call Gwent Police on 101, quoting log reference 2200097495.

Gwent Police can also be contacted through direct message on Facebook and Twitter. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
