Resurfacing work is underway on Caerphilly’s Crescent Road ahead of this weekend’s 10k and 2k races.

Work on the pothole-plagued road began at 9.30am on Tuesday May 5, and is expected to take until 3.30pm.

The Caerphilly 10k and 2k races, which start and finish on Crescent Road, are taking place on Sunday May 10.

Caerphilly County Borough Council confirmed traffic management is in place while the works are carried out, with “long delays expected”.

The council thanked residents, businesses and road users for their patience while the repairs are made.

It follows resurfacing works along the Lansbury Park Distributor Road – which forms part of the Caerphilly 10k route – which were carried out this weekend.
