Caerphilly County Borough Council is to simplify the notification process when someone dies.
The initiative, called ‘Tell Us Once’, gives residents one point of contact when they need to report the death of a loved one.
Previously, family members were required to contact different organisations.
Tell Us Once, which is led by the Department of Work and Pensions, is due to be launched in the Caerphilly County Borough on Monday June 27.
Cllr Allan Pritchard, leader of the council, said: “When someone dies there are lots of things that need to be done, at a time when family members least feel like doing them.
“The new Tell Us One service will help make things easier and means that you can just get in touch once and a number of organisations will then be contacted on your behalf.”
Last week, councillors agreed to increase charges for its bereavement services by 18.5% year-on-year for the next five years.
