A mother whose son serves with the Royal Welsh has told of the pride she felt when her son took part in the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.
Reilly Anderson Lewis, 19, from Caerphilly, was just one of 20 representing his regiment last month.
Reilly left Caerphilly at 16 when he started his Army Career at Harrogate Army Foundation College in Yorkshire.
His mother Rachel Anderson Lewis contacted Caerphilly Observer about her son’s role in The Queen’s funeral.
She said: “We’re immensely proud of Reilly and feel that his hard work and dedication should be recognised, especially because he wasn’t able to celebrate his passing out parades at Harrogate or Catterick due to the Covid-19 pandemic.”
