Two men have been charged after a police chase in the car park of Ystrad Mynach Tesco.

The incident happened at around 10.40am on Tuesday, November 1.

In a statement, Gwent Police said: “Officers were in the car park of Tesco in Ystrad Mynach carrying out enquiries as part of an ongoing investigation.

“Officers attempted to stop a minibus and an Audi from trying to exit the car park.”

While trying to escape the car park, the Audi caused significant damage to a number of parked cars, as well as police cars.

Police confirmed a 67-year-old man from the Cefn Hengoed area, who was driving the minibus, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cocaine.

The driver of the Audi, a 22-year-old man, was later stopped and arrested on Hengoed Avenue. He was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, being concerned in the supply of cocaine and drug driving.
