Fire crews were called to the Caerphilly Indoor Market building on Pentrebane Street this morning, Sunday November 20.
According to South Wales Fire and Rescue, crews were called at 1.32am.
The fire was on the top floor above Manhattan Kitchen.
No-one was inside the building and by 6.45am the fire had been put out with fire fighters dampening down. Five fire engines were used as well as an aerial ladder.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
Manhattan Kitchen, which has been closed for some time, and neighbouring Thai Tulip suffered extensive water damage.
In a statement posted to Facebook, the indoor market confirmed it would be opening on Monday.
it read: “Apologies to customers but we are closed on Monday so that scaffolding can be put up on the building the other end of the block.
“Sadly a fire started on the upper floors and unfortunately Thai Tulip has been flooded in the attempt to extinguish the blaze.
“No one was injured but the street has been closed to erect scaffolding for everyone’s safety. “We hope that Thai Tulip can rescue their business and quickly.”
