Workers erect scaffold in Pentrebane Stret on Monday

Caerphilly Indoor Market will reopen on Tuesday, November 22, after it was forced to stay closed today following a fire.

Fire crews from five stations were called to Pentrebane Street at 1.30am on Sunday, November 20.

The fire was on the top floor above Manhattan Kitchen and Thai Tulip – the former Boots building in the same block as Caerphilly Indoor Market.

Pentrebane Street was closed today as contractors erected scaffolding around the building.

Caerphilly County Borough Council said its inspectors will be checking the safety of the building and that Pentrebane Street is expected to reopen Tuesday.

If the road is closed, then access to Caerphilly Indoor Market can be made via Clive Street.
