Rhymney trains from Cardiff currently affected due to points failure

Valley rail services are currently cancelled or delayed due to a points failure

Trains to Rhymney from Cardiff Central are currently affected. 

Trains running through Cardiff Central may be cancelled or delayed due to a points failure, according to Transport for Wales. 

Disruption on the Cardiff west routes, which includes the Valley lines and trains to Rhymney, is expected until 13.30pm on December 15, according to Transport for Wales. 

The first train affected was the 7.10am train from Cardiff to Merthyr. 

Passengers who hold tickets should be able to use them on alternative routes. For Cardiff to Rhymney, tickets will be accepted on Stagecoach buses. 

Passengers are advised to check before travelling. Passengers may be entitled to claim Delay Repay compensation if their train is cancelled or their train gets to their destination station 15 minutes after it was scheduled to arrive.

Ticket acceptance:
Between Cardiff and Rhymney with Stagecoach.
Between Cardiff and Barry Island with Cardiff Bus.
Between Cardiff and Penarth with Cardiff Bus.
Between Cardiff Queen St and Cardiff Bay with Cardiff Bus.
Between Pontypridd and Treherbert, Aberdare and Merthyr Tydfil with Stagecoach.
Between Radyr and Coryton with Cardiff Bus.
