Police are looking for witnesses after a dog reportedly attacked another dog in Asda car park in Caerphilly.

The attack is said to have happened at around 4.30pm on Thursday March 2.

A dog owner was walking their dog on a lead when they were approached by another dog off its lead, described as a Great Dane Mastiff cross – which bit the on-lead dog, causing serious injury.

The bitten dog was taken to to the vets for treatment and is now recovering at home, police have said.

Gwent Police has urged witnesses to come forward, and is looking to speak to the man pictured, who they believe may be able to help with enquiries.

Anyone with information can contact Gwent Police on 101, or through direct message on Facebook or Twitter, quoting reference 2300071546.
