The story of the Bedwas-based BTM Band will be the focus of the latest episode of ITV Wales’ Welsh Lives.
The episode, which airs at 8.30pm on Tuesday May 16, features interviews with members of the band and looks into its origins.
The episode was filmed in February as the band was preparing for the busy year ahead, following its 50th anniversary in 2022.
Jeff Hutcherson, the band’s conductor, said: “It was a very enjoyable experience putting a programme together for ITV’s Welsh Lives.
“Hopefully the programme will provide a real insight into the time and effort required to perform both as a hobby but also with real professionalism.”
Tim Jones, who plays the euphonium in the band, said: “It is a great opportunity to showcase what brass bands bring to their local communities and the dedication the band has to entertaining.”
Lynn Courtney, producer of Welsh Lives, described the band members as “a lovely, talented bunch of people” and said: “They made our team so welcome.
“I think our viewers will enjoy meeting the different characters as well as being incredibly impressed by their performance.”
The show will be available to view on ITV X after broadcast.
