Gerwyn Price suffered a quarter-final exit at Players Championship 13 on Monday June 12.
Price, from Markham was beaten by Australia’s Damon Heta 6-4 at the last eight stage in Hildesheim, Germany.
En route to the quarter-finals, Price opened his campaign with a 6-1 win over Mensur Suljovic, of Austria, in the first round.
He then saw off Mervyn King in the last 64 with another 6-1 win, before beating Radek Szaganski 6-4 in the last 32.
Price’s final victory at the event came in the last 16, where he beat Frenchman Thibault Tricole 6-1.
The tournament was eventually won by reigning world champion Michael Smith, who defeated Gary Anderson in the final.
Price will compete at the Players Championship 14 on Tuesday June 13, before heading to the World Cup of Darts, which gets underway on Thursday June 15.
