Plans to turn the former bookmaker into a shop were approved

Plans to turn a disused Bargoed bookmaker into a shop have been approved.

Mrs Narinderjit Dhariwal applied to change 2 Hanbury Road, which is currently unoccupied, into an “unspecified business”.

The property was previously a Betfred, which closed in February 2022, according to the planning documents.

The new shop will need to close by 11pm Monday to Saturday and by 10pm on Sundays in the “interest of residential amenity”.

The plans, which were approved on February 14, can be viewed on the Caerphilly County Borough Council website under reference 23/0837/COU.
