The incident happened on Angel Way

Gwent Police are appealing for witnesses after an attempted assault in Bargoed.

The incident took place on Angel Way at around 4.50pm on Saturday February 24.

According to Gwent Police, an unknown man got out of a stationary grey BMW 3 Series at the lights, before allegedly brandishing a Stanley knife and swiping it in the direction of a silver Renault Clio.

No injuries were reported during the incident.

The offender then returned to the BMW before driving away along Cardiff Road.

A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: “Officers investigating the incident are now asking for further witnesses to come forward.

“If you were in the area at the time, specifically Cardiff Road between 4.40pm and 5.15pm, and believe you’ve seen something that can help officers with their enquiries, please call us on 101 or message us on social media, quoting log 2400063751.

“Alternatively, you can provide details, 100% anonymously, by reporting to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
