Before Christmas, Caerphilly-based author Gaynor Torrance published her sixth book – The Rhymney Valley Killings.

The crime thriller follows the character of DCI Jemima Huxley, who faces her most challenging case when she’s called to an unsettling scene where two men have been found dead.

Now, Ms Torrance, who is a best-selling author in Amazon’s Kindle Store, is set to release The Boy in the Reeds, which follows on from her previous book.

The latest instalment, published by London-based Joffe Books, will be released on Tuesday May 28.

Ms Torrance, who is originally from Rhymney, said: “Last year, Joffe Books commissioned the first three books in a brand-new cosy crime series I pitched to them. It’s set in the Wye Valley and will have a very different feel to the Detective Jemima Huxley series. But there are still more Jemima Huxley thrillers to come.”

She continued: “It’s a dream come true to know that my work is regularly read, reviewed, and enjoyed internationally, by readers from countries such as Australia, Brazil, Canada, India, Norway, the United States and many other places too.”
