A ‘sleigh-full’ of stolen goods have been recovered by police following a retail park theft.

Gwent Police received reports of festive stock being stolen from Lakeside Retail Park in Brynmawr on Wednesday November 27.

The goods were said to have been stolen from the loading area behind the Range store, and loaded into a car.

Responding to the call, officers were allegedly driven at by the suspect, who they said left the area at speed.

Police enquiries led them to a property in Rhymney the following day, where officers uncovered a room full of items, including Christmas crackers, decorations, and ornaments.

A 41-year-old man, from Tredegar, has been arrested on suspicion of theft, attempted wounding with intent, and dangerous driving.

Meanwhile, a 50-year-old woman, from Rhymney, has been arrested on suspicion of burglary.
