Gwent Police is investigating criminal damage

Police are increasing patrols on a Caerphilly estate after six cars were reportedly vandalised – with wing mirrors taken off and doors kicked.

Vandals are also said to have walked over car bonnets and roofs.

The incident is reported to have happened on Dylan Drive, Churchill Park, sometime between midnight and 1am on Thursday November 26.

PC Taylor Hughes, of Gwent Police, said: “We’ve recently seen an increase in reports of antisocial behaviour in the Churchill Park area of Caerphilly, with reports of criminal damage and public order offences.

“The latest report of criminal damage on Dylan Drive is completely unacceptable, and we’re doing all we can to identify those responsible and ensure this type of behaviour isn’t repeated.”

PC Hughes continued: “We’ve increased patrols in the area and, as part of the Safer Caerphilly partnership, continue to work with council colleagues to implement additional measures to prevent disorderly behaviour.”

Anyone with information that could help police in their criminal damage investigation, or anyone concerned about antisocial behaviour in the area, can contact Gwent Police on 101, quoting log reference 2400392781.

Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555111.
