Darren Millar has become the new Welsh Conservative leader in the Senedd after being elected unopposed.
The Clwyd West MS takes over from Andrew RT Davies, who resigned this week after narrowly winning a confidence vote in his leadership.
Mr Davies won the vote among the Tory group, 9-7, but offered his resignation after accepting his position as leader had become untenable.
Mr Millar, who supported Mr Davies in the confidence vote, was the only candidate to put their name forward to succeed him.

He was also publicly endorsed by all 15 of his party colleagues in the Senedd, including South Wales East representatives Natasha Asghar and Laura Anne Jones.
Mr Millar said he was “humbled by the incredible support of my colleagues” and continued: “Andrew RT Davies will be a difficult act to follow but I am determined to build on his legacy as we take the fight to our political opponents in the run up to the Senedd elections in 2026.”
He hit out at the ruling Welsh Labour and accused the party of 25 years of “failure” since devolution.
“Wales is crying out for hope and change; I look forward to setting out our plans to deliver just that in the weeks and months to come,” he added.
