A body found in Bedwas this week has been confirmed as that of missing 51-year-old Andrew Edwards.

Mr Edwards, from Tir y Berth, was last seen at the New Duffryn Hotel, on Commercial Street, Aberbargoed at around 10.30pm on Monday 27 January. 

His body was found in the river near Pantglas Industrial Estate on Wednesday January 29.

In a statement, Gwent Police said: “His family have been informed, and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.”
