Two arrested after police chase in Risca

A police helicopter was used as part of the chase, which ended in Risca

Two people have been arrested following a police chase which ended in Risca on Monday morning (February 17).

At around 10am, officers spotted a vehicle travelling on Risca Road, Crosskeys, with cloned plates.

Several police cars chased the vehicle, assisted by a police helicopter, until the suspect was stopped and arrested on Maryland Road, Risca.

A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, possession of a class A and class B drug, and car theft.

The passenger, a 24-year-old woman, was also arrested on suspicion of being carried in a vehicle without the owner’s consent, and possession of a class B drug.

Both remain in police custody.
