Welsh Conservative leader Darren Millar has announced minor changes to his party’s shadow cabinet.

The shuffle comes following Tory resignations from the Senedd’s Covid committee, in protest at Labour blocking calls for witnesses to swear an oath.

Tom Giffard, who was co-chair of the committee before standing down, has been appointed as shadow counsel general and shadow secretary for delivery, external affairs, and the Welsh language.

Meanwhile Paul Davies, who served as Welsh Tory leader between 2018 and 2021, has been named as the party’s deputy leader. He will also retain his roles as chief whip and shadow secretary for the constitution.

Elsewhere, the shadow cabinet remains unchanged, with South Wales East Senedd Members Natasha Asghar and Laura Anne Jones retaining their current shadow cabinet positions.
