The former pub will go to auction on April 15

A former pub in Bargoed is set to go to auction later this month, with a guide price of £325,000.

The former McDonnell pub, on McDonnell Road, is set to go under the hammer on Tuesday April 15, with part of the pub most recently converted into a Premier shop.

Debra Bisley, of Paul Fosh Auctions, said: “The three storey former public house, with a large portion of the ground floor converted and most recently used as a Premier convenience store, is listed with a guide price of £325,000-plus.

“The property is currently licenced for a shop, public house and A3 takeaway licence.

“The first and second floors are open space and currently require renovation. Subject to the relevant consents the premises may be suitable for use as a restaurant or conversion into residential accommodation.

The building is located on McDonnell Road, Bargoed

“It is situated in a primarily residential area within close proximity to local bus routes. The property benefits from gas, water and electricity (not tested).”

“On the ground floor is the former retail area, three rooms and a toilet. There is a basement with open space on the first and second floors. The building, to be sold with vacant possession, also has a former beer garden space at the rear.”

The auction will run from 12pm on Tuesday April 15, and ends at 5pm on Thursday April 17.
