A Cwmfelinfach property could be repurposed as a children’s home, new plans show.
The application, by Thomas Henry Property Investments Ltd, is for a certificate of lawfulness to use the house as accommodation for two children and two carers.
According to a planning statement, the carers would work 48-hour shifts, and a third carer may also be required on “rare occasions”.
The children placed at the home would stay on a “long-term basis… likely to be in excess of 18 months”, according to the statement by agents at Boardman Planning Ltd.
“The facility is not to provide interim care but a stable home,” the agents added.
“The aim is to create a homely environment for the children to grow up in with the long term goal for the children to be capable of living independently as an adult or, in some cases, return home.”
The application is currently out for consultation, and can be viewed on the Caerphilly County Borough Council website under reference 25/0446/CLPU.
