Cefn Fforest Leisure Centre

Cefn Fforest Leisure Centre has closed temporarily due to a sudden water leak.

The leak, in the learner swimming pool, started on Tuesday July 29, Caerphilly County Borough Council confirmed.

Following an initial investigation, heating pumps serving both swimming pools were found to be damaged, and will need to be replaced.

In a statement, the council said: “We are working hard to address this issue as quickly as possible, but this means the site will remain closed over the coming days as we await the delivery and installation of the equipment needed.

“We apologise for the ongoing disruption and we will continue to keep our customers updated.”

The leisure centre was recently threatened with closure as part of council budget cuts, but was given a reprieve by councillors in May. However, while the leisure centre avoided permanent closure, it remains open with reduced hours.
