Free rail travel for Armed Forces personnel and veterans on Remembrance Sunday

Armed Forces personnel and veterans will have free rail travel on Remembrance Sunday

Transport for Wales has announced military personnel and veterans can have free rail travel on Remembrance Sunday (November 9).

Those eligible will also be entitled to free travel on all rail services on Friday November 7, for travel to and from Cardiff Central Station (only to attend the TfW Remembrance Service), and on Armistice Day – Tuesday November 11.

Free travel is allowed for current serving Armed Forces personnel in uniform, or serving military personnel and veterans by providing one of the following:

  • A current MOD90 Ministry of Defence-issued identity card.
  • a Veterans Railcard, Veterans Oyster card, Ministry of Defence-issued Veterans ID or other form of identification proving you are a veteran (e.g. proof of pension).
