Two people have appeared in court after being charged with drug offences following a police search.

Gemma Jones, 35, of Heol Cae Derwen, Bargoed, and Corey Rowlands, 23, of Brynheulog Street, Penybryn, were stopped by police in Aberbargoed on Saturday November 8.

Officers from Gwent Police’s community action team stopped the pair in a vehicle on Coedymoeth Road before carrying out the search.

They were then arrested and charged with possession of cocaine with intent to supply, and being concerned in the supply of cocaine.

Jones and Rowlands appeared at Newport Magistrates’ Court on Monday November 10, where they were remanded into custody ahead of a hearing in December.
