Further development at a site in Oakdale could create six supported living apartments.

The work has been proposed for a site near Oakdale Athletics Club, on part of land where plans for 21 new homes were approved last November.

That housebuilding project involves the demolition of a property – Tŷ Penywaen – to create a new access to the site.

Housing association Bron Afon has now put forward plans to add the supported living apartments to the north-east corner of that proposed development.

Formal plans set out to replace old pub with 37 new one-bed homes

In a supporting statement, agents at LRM Planning said the new apartments are proposed for a “conveniently located” site within walking distance of local services.

Each of the six apartments would have one bedroom, an en-suite bathroom and its own kitchen and living area.

One of the proposed homes would be made available for staff, the agents said.

The application is currently under consideration, and can be viewed on the Caerphilly County Borough Council website under reference 25/0823/FULL.
