Cocaine dealer, 21, jailed for two years and three months

A drug dealer who was “significantly involved” in the sale and supply of cocaine has been jailed for two years and three months.

Cameron Lloyd, 21, of Heathfield Walk, Aberbargoed, appeared at Cardiff Crown Court on Thursday July 8, where he pleaded guilty to supply and possession of cocaine, and possession of cannabis.

Lloyd came to police attention after officers discovered incriminating evidence on a mobile phone seized following the arrest of a suspected drug runner.

He was arrested in Aberbargoed on October 29 by officers from Gwent Police’s Community Action Team.

Officers seized Lloyd’s phone and other electronic devices, and removed two Sur-Ron bikes from the property, which were later crushed.

PC Nikhita Bryant, of Gwent Police, said: “As part of a wider drugs investigation, we seized a suspect’s phone and after, analysing it, the evidence showed us that Lloyd was significantly involved in the sale and supply of class A drugs – either as an upscaler or as someone who was heading up an organised crime group.

“While carrying out regular patrols in the community, we noticed suspicious activity in and around the address where he lived, which supported our investigation further.

“Lloyd wasn’t expecting us when we knocked on his door to arrest him.”

PC Bryant added: “We will continue to work tirelessly to tackle drug supply in Caerphilly county and protect vulnerable people and their families from the devastation and misery that illegal drugs can cause.”
