Singing sessions for people living with dementia are being held in Bedwas, bringing together care homes and the wider community.

The sessions, which are being run by HC-One’s Parklands Care Home in Bedwas and Inside Out Cymru, are being held at Bedwas Workmen’s Hall fortnightly over the coming months.

The sessions aim to provide a safe, supportive space where people can enjoy music, connect with others, and build friendships in a friendly and inclusive environment.

Music plays an important role in supporting wellbeing for people living with dementia, and these sessions offer an opportunity for individuals and their families to come together, enjoy an hour of shared activity, and feel part of the community.

Amy Campbell, home manager at Parklands, said: “These singing sessions are a wonderful way to bring people together. They provide a safe and welcoming space where our residents, their families, and the local community can enjoy music, share smiles, and maybe even make new friends.

“We’re really excited to see people coming along and taking part.”
