A road was closed and diversions put in place after a bus caught fire in the Darran Valley.
The incident, which involved a Stagecoach bus, happened on Monday February 2 between Deri and Fochriw.
A spokesperson for South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said it received a call at around 9.47am “to reports of a vehicle fire near Glen View Terrace to Parc Cwm Darran, Pentwyn”.
They confirmed fire crews and appliances from Rhymney and Merthyr Tydfil attended the scene involving “one well alight bus”.
The fire was extinguished at around 11.15am, and the road reopened in the aftenoon.
Stagecoach confirmed two passengers and the driver were safely evacuated, and no one was injured. A spokesperson for the firm said the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
In a statement shortly after 12pm, Caerphilly County Borough Council said: “Emergency services and Highways are on site, and the road is expected to reopen in the next few hours.
“Please use alternative routes and follow any diversions.”
