A motorcyclist who died in a collision earlier this month has been described as “one of the kindest and most caring people you could ever meet”.

Andrew ‘Buzz’ Edwards, 44, died on the A472 in Hafodyrynys on Monday May 4.

In a tribute issued through Gwent Police, his family said: “Andrew was a loving son, partner, brother, stepdad, and grandad who brought joy, laughter, and warmth to everyone lucky enough to know him.

“He had a smile that lit up every room and a zest for life that was truly infectious.

“Andrew loved his family deeply and was happiest surrounded by the people he cared about most.

“He was the life and soul of every party, yet also one of the kindest and most caring people you could ever meet.”

The tribute continued: “He had a passion for fast cars, holidays, good food, and capturing photos of all our adventures together. More recently, he found a great love for his motorbike.

“Andrew was loved by everyone who met him and his loss has left a huge hole in all of our hearts that can never truly be filled.

“We will miss him every single day, but we will continue to live our lives as fully as we can – just as he would have wanted.”

His family added: “One of Andrew’s favourite sayings was, ‘We’re here for a good time, not a long time,’ and anyone who knew him will know just how truly he lived by those words.”

Anyone travelling along the A472 who witnessed the collision between 2pm and 2.40pm on May 4, or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage, is urged to contact Gwent Police on 101, or direct message on social media, quoting log reference 2600138341.
