Rhun ap Iorwerth has announced his first Welsh Government cabinet since being appointed First Minister.
The Plaid Cymru leader will lead a minority government after securing 43 out of 96 seats available at last week’s Senedd election.
Included in the cabinet is Blaenau Gwent Caerffili Rhymni MS Delyth Jewell, who has been appointed deputy minister for social care, mental health and women’s health.
Meanwhile Sioned Williams has been named Deputy First Minister and minister for social justice and equality.
Former Llywydd Elin Jones takes on the finance brief, while Mabon ap Gwynfor will be Wales’ new health minister.
Anna Brychan, who is new to the Senedd, assumes the education brief, while fellow newcomer Mark Hooper will oversee transport.
Mr ap Iorwerth said his top team “will bring new energy, new ideas and a new direction to the way our nation is led”.
The First Minister said: “United and filled with talent and experience ready to serve, my government will believe in the art of the possible, working as one team every day to improve the lives of the people of Wales.
“Our principles will be our guide as we seek practical solutions to the issues faced by communities the length and breadth of our country – and we will pursue our missions with the energy and urgency they demand.”
He added: “Our pledge is simple – to repay people’s trust in us as quickly as we can, bringing the nation together. A new era of leadership starts today.”
