Police appeal after burglary near Caerphilly train station

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 11:14, Monday June 20th, 2011.

British Transport Police is appealing for help in tracing a driver who may be able to help with a burglary investigation.

After looking at CCTV footage, officers would like to speak to the driver of a black car with a white bonnet spotted on the roads around Caerphilly station around 4am on Monday May 30.

PC Chris Jones, who is investigating a burglary in the area on that night, said: “We think the vehicle may be a cab so I would urge taxi drivers to cast their minds back and ask themselves if they were in Caerphilly at the time.

“We believe the driver of this vehicle may have information which could help us with our enquiries.

“I would urge the driver to come forward with any information they may have, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem.”

If you are the driver in question, or if you have any knowledge of the identity of the driver, contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, quoting background reference B2/WC of 20/06/2011.

Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

It’s “Railway Station”, not “train station”!
