Employees from a manufacturing firm in Bedwas have raised £5,000 for children’s hospice Ty Hafan.
The workers, from Eriez Magnetics Europe, based on Bedwas House Industrial Estate, scaled the peaks of Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Pen-y-Fan to raise the cash.
Paul Fears, managing director of the company, said: “We walked across the finish line at the bottom of Pen-y-Fan, exhausted but exhilarated.
“Many of the team’s partners, wives and children were there to congratulate us. It had been tough at times, but we had all completed the challenge as a team. We had worked together, helping each other when we were hurting and ensuring that we achieved our objective of getting all the team across the finish line together.
“The Eriez teams raised over £5,000 in sponsorship, having been supported by suppliers and colleagues from around the globe, foreign representatives, family and friends. Their support was invaluable and it meant that we could commit vital funds to ensure that Ty Hafan continue to open their doors and help children and young people with life limiting illnesses and their families.
“My family benefited from their care and so I knew, on a very personal basis, how precious Ty Hafan is.”
