The number of council houses standing empty in Caerphilly County Borough has reduced by almost half over the last two years.
There are currently 93 council houses standing empty, down from 190 this time two years ago.
Cllr Lyn Ackerman, cabinet member for public services and housing, said: “This is great news for our council housing tenants, as we have been working hard to reduce the turn-around period from one council tenant moving out of a property to the next tenant being able to move in.
“We are committed to ensuring that our empty council properties have all the necessary maintenance, and repair works undertaken as soon as is practicably possible after a council tenant has left, ready for the next tenants to move into, therefore reducing the number of homes standing empty with no occupier.
“We will continue to work hard to further reduce this figure over the coming months.”
