Owen Meredith, the Conservative candidate for Caerphilly in May’s Welsh Assembly Elections, is to hold a public meeting on Thursday.

Mr Meredith will be taking questions at Caerphilly Conservative Club, in Bartlett Street, on March 17 from 7pm. The meeting will focus on the regeneration of Caerphilly town centre, job creation and the promotion of tourism.

He said: “It is vital that politicians listen to the people we hope to represent. That is why I am holding these meetings to hear your views on how we tackle the challenges we face in Caerphilly and learn from what has held us back in the past.

“By holding these meetings it gives people a real opportunity to make their voices heard and ensure that the issues they care about are at the top of the political agenda.

“There is a real choice in this election – a chance to make a positive change for Caerphilly. Please come along to raise your concerns, asks questions and meet your candidate.”

The meeting is open to anyone living in the Caerphilly constituency and registration is not required.

Mr Owen will be standing against former Labour Welsh Secretary Ron Davies, who is representing Plaid Cymru and current Labour AM Jeff Cuthbert.
