A police crackdown in Caerphilly County Borough saw 110 motorists prosecuted for speeding.
Officers on patrol in Risca, Ystrad Mynach, Blackwood and Rhymney arrested two wanted people and an illegal immigrant as well as seizing five vehicles without insurance.
Police also handed out 32 fines for offences such as drivers not wearing seatbelts and vehicle faults.
A further 11 motorists were prosecuted for using a mobile phone while driving
Inspector Gareth Lintern, who led the operation, said: “The action taken yesterday is indicative of the day to day activity of officers all around the force.
“The majority of people living and working in the Caerphilly area and Gwent as a whole are law-abiding citizens who support our efforts to drive down crime and provide a reassuring presence in local communities.
“However, we are committed to spreading the message that anyone found to be involved in criminal activity will face the consequences.
“All teams are proactive in cracking down on the issues that matter most to our local residents and we will continue to use operations such as these not only to get positive results to feed back to local communities, but also to collect and record intelligence that will inform future activity.
“Although this was a one-day operation, our efforts to target anyone choosing to break the law will certainly continue.”
