Staff at Brewers Fayre Crossways raise cash for charity WaterAid

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 15:00, Tuesday November 8th, 2011.

Staff at the Crossways Brewers Fayre, in Caerphilly, have raised £1,300 for charity WaterAid.

The money has helped fund WaterAid’s work in India helping 66,000 people gain access to a long-term supply of safe water and improved hygiene and sanitation.

The pub’s staff raised the cash through a series of events such as triathlons, swim-a-thons, cycle rides and family fun days.

A spokeswoman for Brewers Fayre, said: “Everyone at Crossways Brewers Fayre has worked very hard to achieve this great milestone and I am delighted we can help WaterAid and contribute to providing better water and sanitation for those in need.

“We’d also like to thank our customers, families and friends for helping us to raise the money, as without their generous support we would not have achieved our goals.”

Andrew Cook, director of fundraising and communications at WaterAid said: “On behalf of all our staff and partners around the world we would like to thank everyone at Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants for their hard work and generosity in raising an incredible £1 million for WaterAid.

“This money will be put to really good use, changing thousands of people’s lives, bringing new hope to families and communities.”
