News | Richard Gurner | Published: 11:00, Thursday November 10th, 2011.

Kind hearted residents from across Caerphilly County Borough have pledged to donate almost 800 gifts in the first week of Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Christmas appeal.

Operation Santa, which aims to help out 650 children in the local area, has so far seen pledges of 789 gifts.

The children helped by the appeal have been nominated by social workers who work with families across the county borough.

Operation Santa is also helping families who are working with Llamau, Action for Children, Home Start and Gofal Cymru.

Local people can pledge to buy a gift and choose the age, gender and geographical area of the recipient.

To pledge, call 01443 866 577 or email operationsanta@caerphilly.gov.uk

The gifts can then be delivered to one of the collection centres situated across the county borough by Tuesday December 13

  • Customer First, Pontlottyn
  • Harper and Wallis Estate Agent, Hanbury Road, Bargoed
