Progress on the regeneration of Risca is continuing well, according to the council.

Leader of Caerphilly County Borough Council Allan Pritchard and fellow cabinet members visited the area for an update on the redevelopment of the old Palace Cinema.

The building is being transformed into a new library and council customer services centre as part of a deal with supermarket giant Tesco, which will have one of its express stores on the site.

Cllr Pritchard said: “This is a very exciting time for Risca and we were keen as a cabinet to come down to view progress on the Palace and other developments in the town. Risca is one of our main town centres and we are committed to supporting and promoting the local economy.”
