A Caerphilly-based manufacturer specialising in products for the healthcare sector is continuing with its programme of expansion and taking on more staff.
Direct HealthCare Services, based on the town’s Western Industrial Estate, now employs 16 people and has expanded to three times its original size in just 18 months. It specialises in manufacturing a range of pressure-reducing beds, mattresses, cushions and chairs and supplies to NHS Trusts as far afield as Ireland.
The company has recently refitted a number of NHS Trusts with new mattresses which have specially-welded seams which reduces the risk of cross infection.
To assist with their expansion plans, the company has received support from the EU-backed Local Investment Fund grant to help with the cost of the welding equipment for the mattress seams.
