The Safer Caerphilly Community Safety Partnership is urging residents to stay safe this Bonfire Night and attend organised firework displays.

Community Safety Wardens will be patrolling the streets of Caerphilly County Borough to keep an eye out for antisocial behaviour or signs of disorder.

Councillor Lyn Ackerman, cabinet member for the environment, which incorporates community safety said: “Naturally, we want everybody to have fun on what is a wonderful occasion, but people must put safety first at every opportunity.

“We have an extremely effective team of Community Safety Wardens and a very sophisticated CCTV set-up that continues to deter antisocial behaviour successfully. We will be using all of our resources to ensure all residents of the county borough enjoy themselves.”

Information about bonfire safety can be found at www.southwales-fire.gov.uk
