Winners all round

One overall winner, six category winners, 18 finalists and not a loser in sight – the Caerphilly Business Forum’s annual awards are upon us once again.

They always add to the excitement at this busy time of the year as it’s a high profile event and generates a lot of interest in the business community and the media. But the CBF works all the year round, acting as a focal point for all businesses across the county borough.

There are some tough decisions to be made in the months ahead, some of which we know about, some of which we can guess and doubtless others which will come out of the blue. So it is vital that businesses here have their views heard and the CBF exists for that purpose.

When CBF members have something to say, our collective voice is much louder and heard by those we need to hear it.

Last month we invited the new chief executive of Caerphilly County Borough Council, Anthony O’Sullivan, to talk to us about how he wanted to work with businesses. He did so and we put our views to him too. Everyone was pleased to establish an important dialogue so quickly.

Whether you’re looking to get your opinion heard by those that matter or network with like-minded, helpful people, the CBF has something to offer you and we want you to get involved.

The Caerphilly Observer has kindly offered us a regular platform which we’ll use to bring you news and views. No doubt you’ll read about the awards winners in the next few days but celebrating our successes is a win-win situation with all CBF members benefiting by raising our profile and all businesses benefiting from the positive news coming from our county borough.

So congratulations to all of us but especially the winners, who will be revealed on Friday. Perhaps next year it could be you.

Chairman, Caerphilly Business Forum
